Storytelling

I had never realized how the same plots are used in movies, television shows, and books. While reading, The Psychological Comforts of Storytelling by Cody C. Delistraty, I learned that we have been telling the same stories for millennia. According to Christopher Booker, there are seven basic story plots: “rags to riches”, “overcoming the monster”, “voyage and return”, “the quest”, “rebirth”, “comedy”,  and “tragedy”. This led me to wonder when will we create a story plot? If we did create a new story plot, I wonder how this will effect the world. New books, movies, and television shows can spawn from this new plot, but how will it affect our world on a deeper level?
